Simple Grocery Shopping List — What's New

v3.1.0 — October 7, 2026

Templates

Templates (Premium)

Ready-made lists added in a tap, laid out like a supermarket. Everyday: Fruit & Veg, Meat & Seafood, Dairy & Eggs, Bakery, Frozen, Pantry, Drinks, Snacks, Household and Personal Care. Special occasions: BBQ, Party, Christmas and Camping. Family: Baby, Pets, Medicine Cabinet and Lunchbox. Ways of eating: Keto, Vegetarian and Gluten-free.

Open one from From a template… on the add screen, or Browse templates on an empty list. Take the whole list or tick just the items you want, and search inside a template to find one. Anything already on your list is skipped, even if you typed it yourself, items file into your shop’s sections, and the whole lot can be undone. Enable Templates in Settings turns them off.

Fixes and polish

  • Manage Shops shows whether each shop’s aisles and sections are on
  • Category boxes show when only some of their items are ticked
  • Dark mode: a brighter, easier-to-read red, lighter headings, and readable tick boxes in the shop filter
  • In US English, the starter sections use American names, such as Pharmacy
  • Emoji search knows every template item, in every language
  • The Premium screen shows Templates, and its Go Premium button stays in reach at the bottom
  • The widget’s header icon no longer dwarfs the list name
  • Many smaller fixes and tidy-ups throughout

v3.0.9 — September 23, 2026

Lists, and a New Way to Add

Lists (Premium)

Turn on Enable Lists in Settings and keep more than one list — the weekly shop, a party, a trip — each with its own items, shopping day and reminder. The Lists screen shows a card for each one with its picture, lists can be edited, duplicated, reordered by dragging or deleted (with undo), and the name in the app bar switches between them. The home screen widget can be set to a list when you add it. Shops, aisles and sections are shared across all your lists. With Lists off, the app works exactly as before.

Adding items

Add several items at once. Type an item and press Enter for the next line, or paste a whole list and each line becomes an item, then file them by shop, aisle and section along the top of the screen. Nothing is added until you tap the button, so you can correct or remove rows first, and the whole batch can be undone in one go.

Pictures

Items can have a picture beside them, guessed as you type from a catalog of groceries and more, or chosen from hundreds of emoji. Shops, aisles and sections can have one too. Prefer plain text? Item Pictures in Settings hides them.

Settings

  • Search Settings to find any option
  • Premium users can drag the sections into their own order
  • New options: Shop Mode First, Shop Mode - Enable Expand/Collapse, Allow Lists To Be Deleted and Hide Tip

Fixes and polish

  • Delete Checked Items can now be undone, and brings back locations and reminders too
  • Reminders are included in backups again, and are set up again after a restore
  • Clearer dark mode: readable red text, visible filter tick boxes, and no discs behind pictures
  • The ALL label no longer hides under the Shop and Edit chips in longer languages
  • Many smaller fixes and tidy-ups throughout

Requires Android 7.0 or newer.

v3.0.8 — September 9, 2026

Settings, Rebuilt

Settings

Settings has been rebuilt. Backup & Restore, Help & Support and About now sit together in a System group, each on its own screen, and a new Delete All Data option clears the app out from one place.

Adding items

Add Location remembers the last shop, aisle and section you used, so a run of items going to the same place takes far fewer taps.

Reminders

A reminder now says where to find the item — the notification names the place as well as the thing.

Google Drive Backup

Restoring from a Google Drive backup works reliably again. Backing up was never affected — if a restore did not go through for you before, it will now.

Also

Menu switches take effect straight away instead of waiting for a restart. Fixes a keyboard gap at the bottom of the list, and the download is smaller. Requires Android 7.0 or newer.

v3.0.7 — September 2, 2026

More Reliable Backup

Google Drive Backup

Sign-in has been rebuilt on Android’s current standard, making it more reliable. When something does go wrong, backup now shows a clear one-line message with a Tap here for help link instead of raw technical output — and Restore is always available while you are signed in.

Reminders

  • The app now asks for notification permission before you pick a date and time — and if notifications are off, it explains how to turn them back on instead of failing silently
  • Reminders can no longer be set in the past

Settings

A new About section shows the app version with quick links to the privacy policy and terms of use. Help & Support now sits at the bottom of the screen, just above it.

Also

Fixed Portuguese texts on the main screen. Requires Android 7.0 or newer.

v3.0.6 — August 26, 2026

Confetti Actually Fires

Confetti

Finish a list with a shop filter on and it now celebrates. It never did before: the app was measuring every item in your list rather than the ones you could see, so a filtered list that looked finished never counted as finished.

Smaller Things

  • Group headers show a caret in Edit mode, so it is clear they collapse
  • Tapping + with an empty box opens the keyboard instead of doing nothing
  • The home screen widget now honours your shop filter
  • Norwegian added

Bug Fixes

Google Drive sign-in now tells you when it has failed, instead of appearing to do nothing at all.
