Trips, and a New Way to Add

Trips (Premium)

Turn on Enable Trips in Settings and every trip gets its own packing list. The Trips home shows a card for each one with its picture, dates and a progress bar, and a trip turns green once it is all packed. Trips can be edited, duplicated, reordered by dragging, set as the default or deleted (with undo), and the app can open on the Trips home or go straight into a trip. Trip reminders now say how many items are still to pack. With Trips off, the app works exactly as before.

Adding items

Adding items is all new, for everyone. Type an item and press Enter for the next line, or paste a whole list and each line becomes an item. Nothing is added until you tap the button, so you can correct or remove rows first, and the whole batch can be undone in one go. The keyboard now stays open while you add. Premium users also get a category strip along the top of the screen.

Pictures

Items and categories can have a picture. As you type, one is suggested for you — Socks becomes 🧦 — or tap it to choose from hundreds of emoji, searchable in every language the app supports. Pictures you had already typed into item names are moved into their own place automatically. Prefer plain text? Item Pictures in Settings hides them.

Settings

  • Search Settings to find any option
  • Premium users can drag the sections into their own order
  • New options: Pack Mode First, Allow Trips To Be Deleted and Hide Tip

Fixes and polish

  • Almost everything can be undone, and undoing a delete brings back the item's picture and reminders too
  • Undoing a delete no longer crashes the app
  • Deleting a category is now a visible bin icon on its header
  • Dialog buttons are visible in dark mode, and the status bar stays readable while a sheet is open
  • The ALL label no longer hides under the Pack and Edit chips in longer languages
  • Many smaller fixes and tidy-ups throughout

Settings, Rebuilt

Settings

Settings has been rebuilt and everything now sits in clear sections, with Backup & Restore, Help & Support and About together under System. A new Delete All Data option clears the app out from one place.

Starting out

New installs now start with an example packing list, so the app shows what it is for instead of an empty screen. Edit it into your own, or delete the whole thing in one go.

  • Clearer tick boxes and buttons in dark mode
  • Fixes to the keyboard bar and the restore summary
  • Daily Backup fixed

More Reliable Backup

Google Drive Backup

Sign-in has been rebuilt on Android’s current standard, making it more reliable. When something does go wrong, backup now shows a clear one-line message with a Tap here for help link instead of raw technical output — and Restore is always available while you are signed in.

Reminders

  • The app now asks for notification permission before you pick a date and time — and if notifications are off, it explains how to turn them back on instead of failing silently
  • Reminders can no longer be set in the past

Settings

A new About section shows the app version with quick links to the privacy policy and terms of use. Help & Support now sits at the bottom of the screen, just above it.

Languages

Fixed Thai text on the main screen, and Norwegian now displays correctly on Norwegian phones. Requires Android 7.0 or newer.

Choose What Is in Your Menu

Action Menu

Five switches in Settings decide which actions appear in the list menu: Expand All, Collapse All, Sort A-Z, Sort Z-A and Delete Checked Items. Switch them all off and the menu button goes with them, rather than opening an empty menu.

Smaller Things

  • Category headers now show a caret, so it is clear they collapse
  • Back from Edit mode returns to your list instead of closing the app
  • Tapping + with an empty box focuses the field and opens the keyboard
  • The mode chips sit centred on the action bar

Bug Fixes

Google Drive sign-in now tells you when it has failed, instead of appearing to do nothing at all. Fixed a crash when dragging a category in Category Management.

A single Premium purchase now unlocks all paid features:

  • No Ads — ad-free experience
  • Cloud Backup — back up and restore to Google Drive
